The Parachute DID NOT Open - Skydiving Accident

Carol Murray-Rodriguez experienced what so many of us consider our worst nightmare. Have you ever dreamed that you were falling fast through the air? This is what happened to Carol in September 1997 when attemping parachuting for the first time.

After her main parachute malfunctioned, she pulled her reserve parachute. The two tangled and collapsed. She fell 3,200 feet (1km or the hieght of 2 CN Towers). She hit the ground at 90 KM an hour.. part of her body went 3 1/2 inches into the ground.

Carol injuries included:

- Left femur broken in 2 places

- Right femur compound fracture (you need to listen to hear how she worked with surgeons to save her leg)

- Broken pelvis

- punctured lung

- broken ribs

- concussion

Carol spent 2 years with a wheelchair and a total of 3 years in 'recovery rehab'.

She has a remarable spirit, is positive to a fault and credits this mindset and the incredible support of her family and friends as the reason she has overcome so many obstacles.

She joined us in the studio recently to talk about her experience and how she went on to use her life to make a difference in the lives of others.
